Churches
Misterton’s churches, the Parish Church of All Saints and the Methodist Chapel, each provide a window onto a rich history of the area. The nearby Isle of Axholme is noted for the origins of John Wesley (1703-1791), first an Anglican who later established the Methodist movement. He was brought up in nearby Epworth, where his ‘great awakening’ on 24 March 1738 is celebrated on Wesley Day each year.
The nearest Roman Catholic Church is in Gainsborough. St Thomas’ in Cross Street celebrates Mass on Saturday at 7.00pm and Sunday at 10.00am.
